End of December and the end of 2016 - how did that happen? It's time for the photographic blogging challenge where P.J at A 'lil Hoohaa posts a theme and we choose five photos to represent it. December's theme is 'tis the season' which I found relatively easy being a bit of a Christmas lover.
Here are my five photos:
1. Tis the season for santa to appear all over the place in various shapes and sizes, with and without lights.
2. Tis the season to go for walks along the beach at sunset whilst wearing multiple layers to keep warm.
3. Tis the season for shops to try and sell huge reindeers for hundreds of pounds - I always wonder what sort of people buy these, and where they store them for the rest of the year.
4. Tis the season for people to have all sorts of cute decorations on their front lawns which during the rest of the year would be considered garish and tacky.
5. Tis the season for bakeries to sell cakes that look like snowmen, santas, Christmas trees, and any other Christmas themed shapes you can think of.
Before you go, make sure you pop over to P.J's blog to see what my fellow bloggers have come up with for their five photos that represent this month's theme - click HERE to visit.
Until next time, be good, stay safe, and have a wonderful 2017.

Hard to believe that Christmas is over already. It always comes up so fast and is gone in a flash. I always get a bit depressed after the holiday... :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the pics. Helps to keep me in the spirit!
Happy New Year!
Michele at Angels Bark
Thanks Michele, I always get a bit down at this time of the year as well, but trying to think ahead to what adventures and challenges we'll find in 2017.
DeleteHappy New Year.
love your photos, Pamela :) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThank you, glad you like them. Have a fabulous new year.
DeleteGreat job!
ReplyDeleteI love the 1st shot of Santa.
I don't decorate much for Christmas, so I wonder the same thing as you when it comes to storage.
Great job!
Thanks - the santa was on someones gate post way out in the countryside, which I found really lovely that they still decorate for anyone passing.
DeleteI wish people in Switzerland would decorate more. As a nation we are such an "understatement"
ReplyDeleteI love the festive lights your Santa spreads!
Happy new year, Pamela!
Happy New Year Tamara. I think people in the UK are either all or nothing when it comes to decorating, and then there's the people that go a bit overboard as well, and could power a small town with the amount of electricity they use.
DeleteIt's fun to see what people do with their yards this time of year. We string lights and even managed to cover two pretty tall spruce trees this year, but no inflatables-yet.
ReplyDeleteI love lights in trees and we have lights along the front of our house. I do love looking at other peoples homes at this time of year.
DeleteNice photos love the beach shot. I get down at Christmas time, but I bet I'd feel better if I could get away from it all and walk on that beach on Christmas Day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Clare. It's amazing how invigorating walking on the beach in the freezing cold can be.
DeleteHi Pamela and Happy New Year! Every time I'm tempted to buy a life-sized deer or pre-lit trees for the front porch or some kind of penguin inflatable I - like you- wonder where we would put it for the rest of the year. So far, that's been enough to stop me from doing more than hanging a beautiful wreath on the front door and making sure our Christmas tree is visible through the window. Thanks for including the beach photograph. Even on Christmas Day, with the turkey roasting in the oven, I had to get out for a short walk. Even a tiny dose of Vitamin N(ature) each day makes a big difference to my state of mind. And the exercise doesn't hurt either - especially with all the seasonal baking around!
ReplyDeleteHi Denise, thanks for stopping by. I'm always tempted to buy lots of fairy lights and put them everywhere but so far I've restrained myself.
