New Years Eve - Time #writephoto

Midnight December 31st - that weird moment in the year when people sit and watch a clock count down and kiss the person next to them. That moment in the year when some people sit and reflect on the year just gone whilst others set totally unattainable resolutions that by the time the next December 31st rolls round they'll be reflecting on how they didn't meet any of their resolutions.

Perhaps instead it should be a time for gratitude. What in the last year are we grateful for and how can we make sure we make gratitude a daily practice. For the coming year we should take the time to pay it forward - giving back to society, no matter how small, can make a huge difference in the world.

My biggest question, is why do we leave it just for the moment when people all round the world are looking at a clock. Why don't we take time regularly to sit and do this (not look at the clock) and reflect on our lives (though kissing the person next to you is perfectly acceptable).

This year, 2017, be more grateful, be kind to yourself, and pay it forward into the world.
